Remember all the connections you have made during your training. With great networking, you get to begin your journey through:

  • The diving center you trained in. If you showed great dedication and the right attitude during your training, you should try your luck with your past diving center. Fill out a CV, list all of your qualifications, and explain why you chose their diving center to work with.

Diving in deeper

If you have a hunger for knowledge and always up for a challenge, commercial diving can make for an incredibly satisfying career. Just like in recreational diving, there are various types of jobs you can go for in commercial diving.

Professional diving can be exhilarating but requires a great deal of hard work, commitment, skill, and training. You can find companies who rely on marine construction and deep sea research, who require offshore oil explorers, and who buy photographs and compiled videography of the ocean to be hiring commercial scuba divers.

Marine construction and deep sea research hire scuba divers to perform exploration duties of a precise location for research purposes. This research most of the time contributes to helping engineers build underwater structures.

Offshore oil exploration is probably the most profitable commercial diving you could do. Divers are sent to survey an appointed area and/ or perform maintenance. This generally requires a lot of muscle and patience.

The underwater photographer is one of the more enjoyable forms of commercial diving. These scuba divers take underwater pictures, film or perform stunts. This a fun and productive job for those intrigued in the entertainment side of diving or the arts.

All of these commercial diving jobs require specific training of course.
