My journey to becoming PADI Dive Instructor – Part 1
So where to begin? My journey to become a PADI dive instructor started back in 2013, when I decided I would change my life for the better and try something new. I was stuck in an office job like most of us, so I decided I need a new challenge and new hobby. I was told by a friend of mine to try diving. This was something I had never thought about before and decided to give it a go. So I rung up a local diving company in the UK
and arranged a try dive in the pool. What I found was this amazing under water experience that was unimaginable, WOW what an experience it was, little did I know that the 20 minutes I spent in a pool would change my life at that time.
I got speaking to them for doing a divemaster internship, this was a 2 month course. During my time travelling around Asia. I started to lookup what it was to be a PADI Divemaster and what was involved and I quickly learned that you could become a PADI Divemaster anywhere in the world. WOW, I thought to myself. So I got speaking to a company in Bali and thought for the price of doing this in the UK I could relocate to Bali for a couple of months and get a good holiday at the same time.
So once I finished travelling I landed back into the cold of the UK and decided this is what I wanted to do. So I paid my deposit, quit my job and 3 weeks later was living in Bali. The weather was beautiful, the people were amazing and what an exciting adventure I was just about to embark on. I was put up in a gorgeous accommodation in the heart of Sanur, very close to the beach. After a couple of days of orientation around the local area, I was getting ready to start my PADI Divemaster internship the next day.
Stay tuned for Part 2 next week. 🙂
